City of Tournai – AI Pavement Inspection

The project for the pavement inspection of the streets of Tournai, commissioned by the City of Tournai’s Technical Service, took place from April to December 2023. The initiative involved segmenting street axes and conducting a mobile mapping survey using 360° imaging alongside high-resolution pavement capture. Road signs were also mapped as part of the process. Pavement inspections were carried out using AI technologies in compliance with the BRRC Belgian norms, with a Pavement Management System (PMS) implemented to determine maintenance priorities. Additionally, a web service was set up to enable easy viewing and navigation of the mobile mapping images.
