Rival has developed a straightforward, mobile, and efficient method for assessing gravel roads using the PASER rating system. This solution has been successfully implemented across Canada and the USA at federal, state, and municipal levels.
The process involves using PASER-based entry forms to record condition data on the go, facilitated by Rival’s rInspector application and processing workflow. rInspector is an iPad-based tool that enables users to capture and map infrastructure details, including images, sketches, and other data according to user-defined specifications like the PASER methodology. Data is synced in near real-time to Rival’s cloud services, allowing for customizable reporting through a web-based dashboard.
Additionally, visual inspections can be complemented by capturing mobile images with smartphones or action cameras, enabling roadway reviews from the desktop.
